I am not sure how I feel about the Chinese faking the fireworks during the Olympics Opening Ceremony. I thought it was really well done and more than likely not even noticed they were fake/ missing anything. So I think either they should have a) not told us they lied or b) not faked them in the first place. I also heard they had this little girl sing but she wasn’t pretty enough so they replaced her with another little girl to lip sync. That poor girl will probably grow up with self- esteem issues. On another Olympic’s issue, what the hell is going on Canada. We have NO medals. I am severely disappointed. I guess we are just a Winter Olympics kind of country, Go Vancouver 2010! Also, this Olympic medal count map from the NY Times is kind of neat.

I really want to volunteer in Africa somewhere. I want to go see Africa, any part. Any volunteer, although preferably with kids. Two girls I went to elementary school with just came back from there and brought all these shoulder sling bags back with gorgeous African fabrics. I bought one, and the money goes to orphanage they worked at. I want to do something like that. I want to feel like I’ve done a little bit to make someone’s life just a little bit better.

Next week Leah moves into her house so Carson and I are helping her move on Saturday. And then next week I am helping her paint inside and stain the fence. I am very excited to see her new house in person! I also am so happy for her because she sounds so excited about this! And she really deserves it. It is supposed to be almost 30 degrees out next week so the fence staining will be VERY warm, but maybe I’ll at least get a tan.

School starts in approximately 3 weeks and I am done work on Friday. Hip hip hooray! I am so excited but at the same time a little sad. I like the people I work with, and we all have a good laugh sometimes. Today I am wearing a leopard print cardigan and my boss, Rob comes in and said ”You’re looking very giraffe like today”. I told him he should go back to the zoo to learn his animals. On Friday I kind of want to show up in my pajamas and sleep in, I mean what are they going to do? Fire me? Hehehe.

I bought blackcrackberry. I am in love with it already. The weirdest part is, my phone bill total has gone down, even with a data plan. I guess it’s because of the Rogers Smartphone bundle. I also love the My5 plan. I really only call/text those 5 people anyways. And it’s all unlimited! I still think the Canadian cell phone market needs some more regulation or competition. We have the highest rates on stuff like data. Rwanda has a cheaper data plan than Canada. My Blackberry has Wifi though and most places I am have Wifi I can connect to which is really nice. This is exactly what my exact phone, it’s actually from O2 too, I have a problem with buying European phones but I have had no hassle with it at all like my last phone. I get full service (even in my basement!), can access my voicemail and everything connects properly through Rogers. Another satisfied customer, I’d say.
